HCL presents "Political Debate on US Presidential Election"...

I had been following the US debate for last 8 months and I was so happy when I was told we are to have a political debate in New Delhi ...

We did the political debate yesterday in The Oberoi, New Delhi ...

Watch the Curtain-raiser AV...

Richard called the AV as very MTVish  and he wished he and Neson had brought their boxing gloves :)...

Thats me with Abhishek on right on the podium
I think that entire place was looking nice !
Shiv Nadar addressing the public...
Jehangir S. Pocha starting the debate...

Nelson W. Cunningham (Advisor - Barack Obama) & Richard Burt (Advisor - John McCain)

Shiv Nadar in discussion with Dr. P Chidambaram

In all, it was a great experience...

Now the big question...whose side am I? Well...like Jehangir mentioned in the last - Both are so capable with their own positives and negatives, that it actually does not matter...:) (I know I know that is a diplomatic answer ;)

13 Tzameti - (8/10)

13 Tzameti (Tzameti means 13 in Georgian language, native of the director) is a thrilling sensational movie which will pace up your hearts for 88 minutes the movie will last!

The story is about a 22 year old Sebastian (played by George Babluani), who is a worker in a house to earn living for his poor family. Then one day the owner of the house dies because of his morphine intake and by chance (or mischance), Sebastian gets hold of a mail with a ticket and hotel bills for the owner.

Sebastian decides to go in his place as he understands there are lot of monies at stake and he decides to take his chance...he least expected that his chance will land him up in a roulette game where 13 men arrange themselves in a  circle and shoot themselves off...and Sebastian gets to be the 13th person...

The movie, by Géla Babluani, is in black and white to curtail down the blood but in my view it adds up to the thrill even further...blackness in the movie makes each and every second full of such abyss of suspense that I recommend this movie not at all for teenagers or for faint hearted...

There is a  dialogue in the movie by a gambler who wants to bet on Sebastian, who is like a baby amongst his opponent and totally unexperienced in the game,
"It's when I have logic against me that I have more luck!"
This dialogue alone made me give the movie 1 number more than 7 which added up because of cinematography, ruthlessness and carelessness depicted by No. 6 and other players,  also the details to attention paid by director is noteworthy. In all I give the movie total of 8 of 10 points.

A must must watch for all world cinema lovers :)

Happiness and Sadness are mirror images!

Have you ever noticed that its so tough to differentiate between dusk and dawn? is there something that nature is trying to teach us by their example?
This is the thought which struck in my mind once I saw the above picture by Nazli Yilmaz Bolat

Dawn and Dusk are nothing but like matter and antimatter - part of each other...neither can survive without the other , actually neither can exist without the other and will lose its existence...

Is it not exactly the case with happiness and sorrow in our lives?

In fact, they bear the same relationship with life - happiness will lose the exuberance attached to it if there would be no sadness...and at the same time- if there would be no happiness but only sadness - people will lose the motivation to live life because there would be no reason to live life!

A small journey in train...

I had to take a very quick trip to Gwalior , where my sister stays with my brother in law and 2 naughtiest but sweetest kids...and since train is the most convenient trip between Delhi to Gwalior - I had a chance to travel  in train alone after a long long time...and wow! I am feeling so good after a long long time...here is why? :)

Train journeys have always been like a rejuvenating trip to garden for me...I like to sit in silence and watch out in the greenery and think about special people who fill my life...moments which have given me the toughest time and the best time in my life so far...those 5-6 hours of journey in the train act as a purgation and meditation time for me...weeding out certain thoughts and trying to fill the mind with plans and dreams of future...

Sitting inside the train - I often observe people...try to live their life...husband and wife trying to soothe a crying baby ...a young fellow trying to win over a lady, a guy (me!) lost in thoughts of someone so much ...2 people fighting over which is the worse state of India UP or Bihar! - you get to see everything in the train

I always find myself humming my thoughts on the speed and sound of train...it goes fastest when train is at its fastest speed and slows or stops when the train comes to halt...I also love to think of stories of lives of people whom I saw outside the window - a lady with a small baby in the field carrying water, 2 girls laughing on their way to school, a bunch of fellows waving hands on us...I love the life outside the train...I feel as part of life of so many people in such a short time

Such train journeys have become more and more infrequent because of the corporate life but given a chance I always chose to travel by train...I simply love the lessons of life such train journeys teach me...
